Core Healing
"Before seeing Megan, my IBS was so bad that I was afraid to be away from home. Now, I can't remember the last time I suffered from an episode! Megan's abdominal massage has truly changed my whole life!" —R.M.

"Megan uses such a gentle approach, that my body doesn't guard and I don't feel like I have to tense to protect myself. However, once the outer layers of tissue are relaxed, she uses her subtle touch to work in an incredibly deep way. When it's all over I feel like she connected with me in an almost psychic way... knowing somehow exactly where to work and when to stop working in an area." —D.T.
"I started to see her to try to get some relief of sciatica pain in my left leg and hip. In about 6 weeks the pain was pretty much gone, because of the massage work that Megan did and some stretching exercises that she taught me." —J.L.
"I've been getting regular monthly massage therapy from Megan for more than two years now and it has dramatically changed the way my body feels. I have chronic digestive upset and recently began trying Megan's abdominal massage. After two sessions, I'm already feeling a difference, plus am benefiting from Megan's sound nutritional advice, which has inspired me to begin changing my longterm junk food diet. And, Megan's massages are much more pleasant than visits to the doctor and having medical tests!" —J.O.

Core Healing

Did you know...

...Upward of 70 million Americans suffer from at least one gastro-intestinal ailment?

...It’s estimated that most Americans experience IBS at some point in their lives, that 30% take Antacids with their meals, and many more will ultimately die from life-threatening digestive disorders?

When your digestion functions well, you get to lead a more joyous, energy-filled life!

Why focus on the abdomen?

It’s the core of the body, the nucleus of our physical and emotional well-being. At Infusion Massage & Wellness, we believe you deserve a life free of dependency on pharmaceuticals to help you digest, or treatments which just plain don’t feel good. Abdominal massage is a soothing and effective way to treat ailments of the belly and pelvis, and a breath of relief where other approaches may cause discomfort or long-lasting detrimental effects.

Abdominal massage enhances the flow of blood, lymphatic fluids, nervous impulses, and life force energy—blockages of which cause a slew of common female and male reproductive and digestive problems, as well as a host of seemingly unrelated complaints.

With manual techniques, we address the actual cause of these ailments, rather than just the symptoms, and encourage the body’s innate ability to heal and repair itself.

Muscles get all the attention in massage, but... our bellies need TLC, too! All our vital organs, never resting to keep us alive and healthy, are located in the core of our bodies, and because of the huge amount of nerve pathways in our bellies, this area often bares the brunt of stress and trauma. For centuries folks have believed that organs hold negative emotions and toxic thoughts, and most healing traditions everywhere have utilized a set of abdomen specific massage techniques. So we combine the power of abdominal work with the feel-good of massage, for total body treatment!

Integrative Abdominal Techniques

Integrative Abdominal Techniques refers to an expanded set of deep, belly massage techniques moving beyond the specificity of the Mayan Abdominal Massage, which focuses more on menstrual and fertility issues. These techniques work with the organs, muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues to bring particular relief to many common conditions like:

  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
  • Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
  • Chronic indigestion, gas, and bloating
  • Colitis
  • Chronic constipation or diarrhea
  • Ulcers
  • Gall bladder inflammation
  • Diverticulitis
  • ... and many more

These techniques are also fantastic for breaking up scar tissue and adhesions; they also aid detoxification and cleansing processes. They also treat the same conditions as Mayan Abdominal Massage, and have many of the same objectives.

Integrative Abdominal Techniques draw from the age-old art of Chi Nei Tsang, as well as modern healing arts such as Visceral Manipulation and core strengthening techniques and help relieve many pelvic and abdominal conditions typically treated by drugs or surgery.

I co-teach these techniques to healthcare providers throughout the greater Seattle area with Love Your Guts Seminars—the belly massage education program facilitated and taught by Marty Ryan, LMP, the Massage Director at the Tummy Temple.
